The Earth Day Celebration will be held in the Ramsdell Room at the Flint Farmers’ Market. The annual Earth Day Celebration is sponsored by the University of Michigan-Flint, Kettering University and Mott Community College. The event will feature more than 25 exhibitors and presenters. Sierra Club Lake Nepessing Group will distribute live tree seedlings to all attendees.
A UM-Flint student group FUEL (Future Urban and Environmental Leaders) is taking the lead to make the Earth Day Celebration a zero-waste event. The UM-Flint student group is working with vendors and exhibitors to reduce, recycle, and/or compost materials generated at the Earth Day event.
Presentations & Speakers
There will be a Lunch and Learn cooking demonstration by Lori Fleischer, Wildtree Director, in the Demonstration Kitchen adjacent to the Ramsdell Room from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. We will have speakers on timely environmental topics from 10 a.m. to Noon and after 1:30 p.m.
UM-Flint Early Childhood Center will provide children’s activities. Seven Ponds Nature Center will have a hands-on touch table with lots of furs, bones, rocks, bird nests and many more natural specimens for visitors to learn about.

Borrow a bike free of charge sponsored by Zagster for a short, guided bike tour around the campus, the Local Grocer, Urban Garden Demo, Farmers’ Market, UM-Flint Urban Alternative Housing, and the Flint Cultural Center.
