Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun biking activities at the 2nd annual Cycling Circles to be held at Chevy Commons.  The event is designed to get kids out on the trail to showcase the space to the community while instilling the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.

During the event, local organizations will host free activities and offer giveaways along the trail. Families are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets to ride between the stations.   There will be a limited number of bikes and helmets for toddlers and young children to use during the event.  Availability will be on a first come, first served basis.

“Everyone is invited to come out for the event even if they don’t have a bike,” said the Flint River Corridor Alliance’s Vanessa Ferguson, one of the event coordinators.  “We will have bikes and helmets onsite for kids to use during the event.”

Kids who bring their own bikes are encouraged to decorate them.  Decorated bikes are automatically entered into the “Coolest Bike Ever” contest.  Winners will be selected at the event.  “We can’t wait to see the creative decorations the kids come up with this year for the event.  It is so much fun seeing the decorated bikes out on the trail,” said Ferguson.

A special thank you goes to the following event sponsors and partners to date: Kettering University, Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), The Community Foundation of Greater Flint, Wade Trim, Flint River Corridor Alliance, Genesee County Parks, Crim Fitness Foundation, Genesee County Land Bank, Genesee County Health Department, Hurley Medical Center (Kohls Cares), and McLaren Health Plan. Additional sponsors will be announced via social media.
